The Dragon and His Wrath: :Thomas Jefferson’s Relentless Persecution of Aaron Burr

Aaron Burr was an American Revolutionary War hero, an early, unwavering opponent of slavery, an advocate for woman’s rights 200 years before the movement began and third Vice President of the United States.In the election tie of 1800, he abandoned his own ambition to become President, when the office could have been legally his, rather than wrong Thomas Jefferson or go against the wishes of the American people or his party. Yet Jefferson felt compelled to destroy Burr and see to it that he would never play a role in politics or the government of our new nation.
