Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain Civil War General and Hero, a Biography for Young Readers

This is a biography of one of our greatest Union heroes from the American Civil War, Major General Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain of Maine, the hero of Gettysburg and the battles of the White Oak Road and Five Forks; all pivotal battles of that war. General Chamberlain was wounded six times in the war and officially reported as killed in action after what should have been a mortal wound sustained at Petersburg, Virginia. He was instrumental in forcing Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia to surrender at Appomattox Court House, Virginia.
